Molokai High students to test hydroponic strawberry planting
It will be an exercise in basic economics of agriculture as well as an introduction to a new technology with a sweet finish at harvest time.
With the start of the new school year, 13 Molokai High School juniors and seniors will be engaged in Molokai Hydroponic Strawberry Cultivation, a project supported with a $5,000 grant from Maui Economic Development Board's Ke Alahele Education Fund.
This is an example of an innovative educational program that will provide multi-faceted benefits to the students who participate," said Jeanne Unemori Skog, MEDB President and CEO.
